[Call for Papers] UWA-ALSA Environment & Sustainability Conference 2026: Advancing sustainability: environmental, societal and corporate perspectives

The University of Western Australia (UWA) and the ALSA Environment and Sustainability Chapter are pleased to announce a conference in 2026 on the theme of ‘Advancing sustainability: environmental, societal and corporate perspectives’.

Despite decades of interventions at all governance levels, sustainability remains a challenge. Governments, industries, communities and individuals, must all play a part if we are to advance sustainability. This conference will draw together legal perspectives from these different stakeholders the aim of encouraging cross-jurisdictional diversity and dialogue.

We invite contributions from established and early career academics and academic practitioners interested in exploring this theme. Presentations are sought from interested individuals or small groups addressing research, practice or teaching perspectives. The conference will primarily be delivered in-person, although a small number of hybrid sessions may be arranged.

The conference will be held at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Western Australia, hosted by the UWA Law School, from 7-8 July 2026.

Submission information

Abstracts are sought which include a summary of the presentation (max 500 words) and a brief presenter/author(s) biography (max 100 words). Presenters should choose one of the following formats:

(3) panel discussion involving a more conversational style format (intended for groups of presenters drawn from different institutions – the organising committee can assist in finding additional panel members if necessary) (20 minutes)
